DONNA Beauty Academy x 8T3 by Mallia
When hair starts to thin, it is often about more than just your hairstyle. What is changing right now? What is causing it? And what can I do? These are questions many women still feel they have to face alone.
That made the exchange at the DONNA Beauty Academy x 8T3 by Mallia in early September all the more valuable. Together with DONNA, we welcomed eight readers to the magazine’s Munich editorial office – an afternoon full of personal experiences, questions and clear insights into the science behind hair growth.
Eight women, eight perspectives and plenty of good questions
Ahead of the event, DONNA had invited its readers to share their experiences with changes in their hair. Eight of them came together in Munich.
Their stories and perspectives were as varied as the participants themselves.
The participants asked their questions, shared their own thoughts and got talking with one another. Because as individual as hair loss is, it can be just as helpful to hear how others deal with it.
Personal experiences meet science
How do hormonal changes affect hair growth? What role do genetic factors play? And what actually happens at the hair root when hair is lost?
The answers came from Dr Anne Asmuß, immunologist and Managing Director of Mallia Aesthetics. She explained the biological mechanisms and presented the scientific approach behind 8T3. The focus was on the body’s own protein CD83, on which Mallia based the development of its active ingredient MAL-838. It is used in the hormone-free 8T3 Essentials Hair Serum, which was developed for thinning hair and hair loss and supports the scalp’s natural regeneration processes.
So the Beauty Academy was not only about why hair changes, but also about the new possibilities research is opening up for hair care.
Why does women’s hair change?
Hair loss can have many different causes. Especially during menopause, hormonal changes can affect the hair cycle. But genetic predisposition, nutrient deficiencies or other factors can also play a role. Which changes are typical, what may lie behind them and when it makes sense to seek medical advice is explained in more detail in our article Stopping hair loss in women.
What stays with us from this afternoon
In its November issue, DONNA reports on the Beauty Academy and looks back on the afternoon with personal impressions and photos. We are delighted that the encounters, conversations and scientific insights have also found a place in the magazine.
A heartfelt thank you to the DONNA editorial team and all eight participants for their openness and the personal conversations!
