Mallia Aesthetics is a biotech company based in Erlangen, Germany. This is where the 8T3 brand is created: a deep understanding of biological relationships, new approaches to hair growth, and consistent development based on sCD83.

Mallia is not based on a quick idea, but on more than two decades of research. What began with a discovery in wound healing gradually became the basis for a completely new mode of action.

2001
The origin in wound healing
A discovery has been made at the University of Erlangen: the soluble form of the protein CD83 (sCD83) can have a positive effect on the healing process—and possibly more. -
2012
Focus on hair growth
Preclinical studies show that sCD83 acts directly on the hair root. Research is gathering pace with the aim of creating a body-compatible alternative to known active ingredients. -
2024
Foundation of Mallia Aesthetics & start of commercialization
The biotech company Mallia Aesthetics is founded in Erlangen with the aim of specifically advancing CD83-based applications. -

Mallia is launching 8T3 – an active ingredient that targets the hair root and is based on the soluble protein CD83.
